This article is about young people marking their bodies with more than just tattoos.
Youths are becoming more wild by going for micro-dermal piercings, split tongues, implants or scarring themselves.
Few reasons on why they did this is firstly to stand out from the crowd. Secondly, to release stress and pressure. Also these body arts are not cheap. It can cost up to few thousand dollars depending on what type of tattoos.
Here are the details of some of the different types of tattoos.
Micro-dermal piercing:
A hole in the skin is created using a dermal punch. A stud is inserted underneath the skin. The pain level is 4 out of 5 and young people as young as 16 has done it. It cost from $150 onwards.
Implants:
An incision is made with a scalpel to create a pocket underneath the skin. The implant is inserted and punches through to the desired area.Cost about $300 onwards.
Scarification:
A scalpel is used to cut a stencilled design on the skin. A scar forms where the skin is cut. Can cost up to few hundreds dollars depending on the size.
UV tattoos:
Tattoos done with a special kind of ink to make them glow under UV lights.
Split tongues:
Forceps are used to hold tongue in place. A scalpel knife is then used to cut the tongue into halves(ouch). The sides are stitched to prevent them from growing back together.
Well for my own personal opinion, I will never ever get a tattoo of any kind or whatsoever. I think it is disgusting to get body art and that it will be permanent for the rest of our life.
So what if we no longer want that tattoo that we had made few years ago???Go for laser surgery?? Wouldn't that leave a permanent scar on the skin. It will be so unpleasant to see for the rest of our life.
Especially the split tongue which I am totally against it. We are human beings why do we need a tongue like a lizard?. I sometimes feel that they just don't think.
Well i am still fine with those normal tattoos since most of my uncles have them. But they told me that they regretted getting them. So i guess it is all up to what personal individuals think. Some like body art and they do it for attention. Others just wanted to feel that they belong.
So for me, I would never get married with a guy that has any kind of body art nor support it. I guess body art is not something that I will ever like. But this is just my opinion. Hopefully youths would think of the consequences of getting body art before getting them.
